California Consumer privacy

This California Consumer Privacy Statement is intended to supplement the Global Privacy Notice and applies only to California consumers, including customers, website visitors, job applicants, and business partners. This Statement does not apply to CelinieJourney personnel.

This California Consumer Privacy Statement includes certain terms that carry the meanings assigned to them under the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020, together with its implementing regulations (collectively, the “CCPA”).

Notice Regarding the Collection and Use of Personal Information

We may collect, and may have collected during the 12 months preceding the Last Updated date of this California Consumer Privacy Statement, the following categories of personal information about you:

  • Identifiers: information such as your real name, alias, mailing address, unique personal identifier (including device identifiers; cookies, beacons, pixel tags, mobile advertising identifiers, and similar technologies; customer number, unique pseudonym, or user alias; telephone number; and other persistent or probabilistic identifiers), online identifier, IP address, email address, account name, Social Security number, driver’s license number, passport number, and other similar identifiers.

  • Protected Classifications: characteristics protected under California or federal law, including race, color, national origin, religion, age, sex, gender, gender expression, marital status, medical condition, disability, citizenship status, and military or veteran status.

  • Commercial Information: commercial records, including information about personal property, products or services purchased, obtained, or considered, as well as other purchasing or consumption histories or tendencies.

  • Online Activity: Internet or other electronic network activity information, including, without limitation, browsing history, search history, and information regarding your interactions with websites, applications, or advertisements.

  • Geolocation Data

  • Sensory Information: audio, electronic, visual, thermal, olfactory, and similar information.

  • Employment Information: professional or employment-related information, including résumé details, occupation information, education details, certifications, professional associations, prior compensation information, previous employment details, emergency contact information, and pre-employment screening and background check information, including criminal records information.

  • Education Information: education information that is not publicly available personally identifiable information as defined in the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (20 U.S.C. Sec. 1232g; 34 C.F.R. Part 99).

  • Inferences: inferences derived from any of the information listed above to develop a profile about you reflecting your preferences, characteristics, psychological tendencies, predispositions, behavior, attitudes, intelligence, abilities, and aptitudes.

We may use, and may have used during the 12-month period preceding the Last Updated date of this California Consumer Privacy Statement, the categories of personal information identified above for the purposes described in our Global Privacy Notice, as well as for the following business purposes:

  • performing services, including maintaining or servicing accounts, providing customer service, processing and fulfilling orders and transactions, verifying customer information, processing payments, offering financing, providing analytics, storing information, and delivering similar services;

providing advertising and marketing services;

  • conducting auditing activities, including counting ad impressions for unique visitors, verifying the placement and quality of ad impressions, and auditing compliance;
  • engaging in short-term, transient uses, such as displaying non-personalized advertising as part of your current interaction with us;

We do not collect or process sensitive personal information for the purpose of inferring characteristics about consumers.

To the extent that we process deidentified information, we will keep and use that information in deidentified form and will not attempt to reidentify it unless permitted by applicable law.

Retention of Personal Information

We will retain your personal information in accordance with the “How long we retain personal information” section of the Global Privacy Notice.

Sources of the Personal Information

During the 12-month period preceding the Last Updated date of this California Consumer Privacy Statement, we may have collected personal information about you from the following categories of sources:

  • directly from you, including when you make a purchase online or in-store, contact our Customer Service team, complete customer information cards, attend one of our events, or take part in a survey;
  • from your devices, such as when you visit Tiffany websites or other Online Channels;
  • from your family or friends, for example when they provide us with your contact information so that we may send you information that could be of interest, or when someone purchases a gift for you;

We do not sell your personal information for monetary payment. However, you may have the right to opt out of certain disclosures of your personal information, as described below.

In addition to the categories of third parties listed above, during the 12-month period prior to the Last Updated date of this California Consumer Privacy Statement, we may also have disclosed personal information about you to government entities and to third parties in connection with corporate transactions, such as mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures.

Your California Consumer Privacy Rights

You have certain rights and choices regarding how we collect, use, and disclose your personal information, as outlined below.

Access: You have the right, up to twice within a 12-month period, to request that we disclose to you the categories of personal information we have collected, used, disclosed, sold, or shared about you; the categories of sources from which that personal information was collected; the business or commercial purposes for collecting, selling, or sharing personal information; the categories of third parties to whom we disclose personal information; and the specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.

Correction: You have the right to request that we correct any personal information we maintain about you if that information is inaccurate.

Deletion: You have the right to request that we delete certain personal information we have collected from you, subject to applicable exceptions.

Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing: You have the right to direct us not to sell your personal information or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes.

Shine the Light Request: Subject to certain limitations under California Civil Code § 1798.83, California residents may request that we provide: (a) a list of certain categories of personal information that we disclosed to third parties for their direct marketing purposes during the immediately preceding calendar year, and (b) the identities of those third parties.

You may opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information by clicking here. If you would like to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information associated with another device or browser, you must submit an opt-out request or use the Global Privacy Control signal from that device or browser. Please note that if you clear cookies on a particular device or browser, you may need to submit your opt-out request again from that same device or browser. Requests submitted through the Global Privacy Control apply only to the device and browser from which they are sent. Verifying Requests: To protect your privacy and maintain security, we will take steps to verify your identity before processing any access, deletion, or correction request. If you submit a request to access, delete, or correct your personal information, we may ask you to provide certain details, including:

  • contact information, such as your name, phone number, and address; and
  • information regarding your transactions with Tiffany.

In addition, if you request specific pieces of personal information, we will require you to sign a declaration, under penalty of perjury, confirming that you are the consumer whose personal information is the subject of the request.

Additional Information: If you choose to exercise any of your rights under the CCPA, you have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment from us. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we may charge a reasonable fee to respond to your request. This Statement is available in alternative formats upon request.
